The Classics was een band uit Stramproy die bestond uit Harrie Broens, Ber Kwaspen, Jan Dirkx, René Munnecom, Peter Gerits en Joep Beurskens.
Het repertoire van de band bestond vooral uit Engels- en Duitstalig werk. Toch werden ook enkele Limburgstalige nummers uit gevoerd. Dat gebeurde dan onder de naam De Klessiks.
The Classics wonnen in 1977 samen met de Walkers en Rainbow het eerste Limburgs Vastelaovesleedjes Konkoer. Het winnende liedje Vaan Eysde tot de Mokerhei is sindsdien een carnavalshit gebleven.
